PSCDA President's Message - October 28, 2007
By Roger Howson, Claims Dispute Resolution

This year's PSCDA Presidential position is being run by committee.
Allan Hay, Tom Washington, Mixie Eddy, and Dawn Clark are an
incredible help (and unrelenting reminder) in making sure that the
PSCDA's meetings and its mission come off as promised.

Of course, the forty of us who showed up at the rescheduled October
11th PSCDA "Lassoed by LinkedIn.com" presentation by Matt Youngquist
represent the dedication to the promise, passion, and mission that
comes with being a part of this organization.

I would like to thank each one of you by name, but that would be
boring and impersonal, and most of you (Bill, Robert, Kate, Carol,
etc.) know who you are and how indebted we are to your service.
That especially includes every one of you et ceteras!

However, I would be remiss if I did not loudly and publicly
acknowledge the essential contributions of our long-standing Web
Mistress, Mixie Eddy! Mixie refused to let a three county
separation interfere with her service to PSCDA. Of course, Mixie is
not JUST the PSCDA Webmaster, her contribution and support in
keeping this organization alive is so very much more substantial and
essential than what she's doing in keeping the website updated.
Mixie is one of the few active connections between the last seven
PSCDA Boards, and so she serves, along with Tom Washington, as the
institutional memory and conscience of our group.

Our Speaker topic for this month is: Exploring Mind Body Techniques
for Personal Development and Growth. This month we can all thank
Bill Gregory for our guest speaker, Scott Buessing. Scott is a
Naturopathic Doctor who says that many times in our fast-paced
culture, our own intuition and intrinsic wisdom gets missed or
dismissed through the course of a busy day. He will discuss with us
how accessing this wisdom, through mindbody techniques can be a
powerful way to improve or restore our own direction and
understanding in life, bringing a greater sense of fulfillment to
our day to day experiences. It seems to me, none of us can afford to
miss this presentation.

PSCDA is back on schedule with an excellent presentation planned for
our Thursday night, November 1st meeting. Hopefully, none of you
set your clocks back. And, if you did switch to Standard Time, we
hope you've figured out by Thursday that the time change is a week
later starting this year. Which means the change comes next weekend,
not last weekend.

Once again, PSCDA will be providing light finger food for those of
us who don't have a chance to eat between work and the meeting,
although, there won't be nearly the volume of food we had last time.
We probably could have fed the entire 425 area code with what we had
last time. But we promise that it will be sufficient for those of
us who want and/or need to eat.

So please make a point to come meet, eat, and enjoy at The Community
Center at Mercer View, 8236 SE 24th Street, Mercer Island, WA 98040
on Thursday evening, November 1st at 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
