Topic: Diversity - The View from
Africa
Speaker: Joe Afanador
Location: Master Builders Association,
335 116th Ave. Bellevue, WA
Join us Thursday, January 5th for our first
meeting of 2006 when Joe Afanador presents Diversity - The
View from Africa.
This will be an interactive presentation,
and as you participate with others you will be encouraged
to think about diversity
in three different realms. The first is your own worldview,
including who you are, as contrasted to the culture in
which you grew up.
The second is having and increasing your knowledge of other
cultures, including some invited discussion about enjoyable
methodologies. The third realm involves teamwork in the
application of specific techniques or interventions, with
ample
consideration as to how the person with whom you are working
is affected. To facilitate the above activities, parts of Africa and
the people who inhabit those particular regions will be introduced.
You will have an opportunity to apply your knowledge, skills,
and appropriate interventions. This is an invitation to an
educational experience couched in an enjoyable format.
We thank PSCDA's Newsletter Editor, Rick Theiss, for arranging
the January speaker.
Meetings are open to the public--free to
Members, $10 to nonmembers.
